INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF BOOKS – “This is a well-crafted and emotionally layered novel…a richly descriptive and steadily paced supernatural thriller that blends dark fantasy, spiritual tension, and emotional depth. It’s imaginative, thought-provoking, and peppered with touches of dry humour that lighten the tone without undermining the stakes.
If you’re looking for a smart, emotionally charged fantasy thriller with heart, humour, and a unique voice, The Light of Wounds is a rewarding read.” (full review)

I’ve read Hatz’s earlier work, but The Light of Wounds feels like a shift to me —quieter, more intimate, and emotionally sharper. The writing is clean and precise, with a kind of honesty that creeps in slowly and stays with you. It doesn’t shout, but it resonates. One of those rare books that makes you pause—not just for the story, but for what it stirs up in your own memory.
It’s honest and well-written, with moments that catch you off guard. There’s a depth to it that lingers. A thoughtful and unexpected read. It made me reflect on a few things I hadn’t thought about in a long time—and that’s not something I say often about fiction…
